Acid stained floors can be a great alternative to any other hard surface flooring.  Because of variations in concrete during the actual pouring of the floor, each floor will be unique.  It is very important to inform your contractor of any known animals that might have been in the basement or any chemical spills that may have happened in the past, for this will greatly affect the performance of the staining process.  These areas will need to be treated differently from the rest of the floor prior to staining.
